TRINITY ART IN THE ALPS: Ceramic & Glass Crafts Fair
FATHER’S DAY Saturday, June 15, 2019, many of the most talented ceramic & glass artists as well as vendors in other specialty crafts from the North State will dazzle spectators at the 3rd Annual Trinity County Art in the Alps: Ceramic & Glass Crafts Fair.
Join in the activities 10am – 4pm along Main Street in Historic Weaverville. We invite artists, instructors, students, ceramic & glass enthusiasts, and anyone interested in discovering the wonders of the ceramic & glass arts to watch insightful presentations and demonstrations by Dan Molyneux, Michael Hopko, and others. Several Hands-On Activities for all to experience with many activities resulting in an arts keepsake.
Free Admission. (Some hands-on activities have a nominal materials charge.)
The morning begins at Trinity Theatre where Dan Molyneux will discuss his complex processes of creating ceramic art, and Michael Hopko will share his process of creating glass creatures.
Then, join us under the big tent at the Highland Art Center Meadow to watch Molyneux demonstrate ceramic techniques while Chris Unger and Mike Hopko demonstrate glass blowing.
Throughout the day, the meadow will be alive with hands-on activities for children and adults.
- Glaze and Fire a RAKU plate or bowl
- Create and fire an enamel pendant.
- Throw a pot on the pottery wheel.
- and more.
The meadow will be surrounded by vendors demonstrating their craft and selling ceramic and glass art. This year, we have opened the venue to a wider assortment of quality hand-crafted art.
