Mountain Magic Christmas
Friday November 24th is a day to put on your calendar. Please join us as we step back in time for an old-fashioned small-town Christmas celebration. The Historic bandstand will be beautifully decorated where the festivities will begin. The town will be decked out in lights with many activities to set the mood for the Holidays. Watch for the purple Stutz sleigh delivering Santa to the Historic bandstand. From 1 to 3 pm he will be listening to children’s Christmas wishes and handing out candy canes.
At 5 pm at the bandstand there will be a greeting from the Weaverville Chamber of Commerce President followed by the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Warm up watching Chestnuts roasting by an open fire and enjoy a sample to be handed out by Terri and Eric Heryford.
Carolers will be strolling Main Street and indoor music will be provided for your enjoyment in the space where Imaginations use to be. The merchants will be having an open house from 5 to 8 pm and look forward to greeting all their friends and meeting new
Barking Mad Studio on the corner of Hwy. 299 and Hwy. 3 will be transformed into Santa’s workshop, where craft vendors will be selling their wares. This will be open from 1 to 8 pm. New this year there will be an additional “Pop-Up” Craft Bazaar at the former Five Windows Gallery on the corner of Hwy 299 and 3. They will be open from 2 to 8 PM.
A few more activities will be added this year. A Make a wish Ornament Christmas Tree will be set up close to Tammie’s Books, Kids can write a wish on an ornament to hang on the tree. This wish is not for themselves but what they would like to see happen to better the world. A Graffiti Wall will also be set up on the deck by Angela’s Beads for anyone wanting to write a message.
The Museum and Blacksmith Shop will be open Noon to 6. Tours of the Joss House, Friday and Saturday on the hour from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
There will be mystery gift givers walking historic Main Street with a collectible souvenir hand warmer, the "Coolest Small Town in the West". So please join us and enjoy a truly Magical small-town Christmas celebration.
