What is the Arts Council ?

The Trinity County Arts Council (TCAC) is a 501(c)3 corporation, formed in 1995.

TCAC is governed by a Board of Directors and the Bylaws.   There are 2 paid part time staff members, the Executive Director and a Bookkeeper. The monthly Board meetings are public and advertised in the Trinity County newspaper, on this website, and on our Facebook page.

The Trinity County Arts Council is at the center of many ARTS Programs in Trinity County.

Our Mission is to support our 3 Primary ObjectivesArt Education for children and adults, Art in support of Tourism with increased participation in events that enable Trinity County to thrive, and Assist the Professional and Financial development of Artists.  Our partnership with the True North Arts & Culture alliance and the associated website has extended our reach to Butte County, Shasta County, Tehama County, and Siskiyou County with the ability to reach art lovers in the North State.

Our objective to support Art Education is met by promoting all Art Workshops in Trinity County and share workshops outside of Trinity with our residents.  We have partnered with OurSpace Gallery to produce the Festival of Light Art Event with proceeds going to a scholarship fund that provides Art and Music Lessons to Trinity children of elementary school age.  TCAC has produced the Art in Schools Docent Program for 3 years in which we hire local artists and prepare them as instructors to teach "Standards Based Art" in elementary schools.  The Docent Program is undergoing a metamorphosis for 2015-16, and should be available next term.

Our objective to promote Art as a driving force to promote Tourism is accomplished in many ways.TCAC works with event planners to determine who the target market is for an event.  We analyze past promotions to develop a marketing plan with a budget that will reach the target market. TCAC produces social media content and email blasts (e-blasts) to reach beyond our borders for artist participation and tourists.  In some cases, the ARTS Council will participate by attending the event or bringing crafts projects for children.  Every year, we provide a face painting booth for the Children's Fair.  Events that are found on this website are also shared with our partner True North Arts & Culture website that includes Butte County, Shasta County, Tehama County, and Siskiyou County with the ability to reach tourists in the North State.

Our objective to Assist the Professional and Financial development of Artists is accomplished through our provision of the Artist Profile on this website.  We offer a free service that includes several features to share one's crafts as well as an expanded service that includes 18 images, a complete artist biography, the ability to upload videos, and share events that one is participating in.  The Artist Profile on our site is also shared with our partner True North Arts & Culture website that includes Butte County, Shasta County, Tehama County, and Siskiyou County with the ability to reach art galleries and art lovers in the North State.
